Reflection: Families who survive on just a few pounds per day cannot afford to have cupboards full of lovely food, or to do huge weekly shops at the local supermarket or deli.

Pray: For all those who will go without food this weekend and struggle each night to sleep because of hunger.

Reflection: Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the back of a colt, and people lay palm branches down across the road as they rejoiced and welcomed him. Today in the developing world mules are still used for transporting both people and goods.

Pray: Thank God for the all the forms of transport we use.

Reflection: Over 2 million children work for very little money in cocoa plantations around West Africa. Buying Fairtrade cocoa products helps cocoa farmers pay fair and just wages by guaranteeing them a fair minimum price for the goods they produce.

Pray: For all those who are exploited and poorly paid, that they may be freed from such oppression.
